Privacy Policy
Family Time: Call Reminder ("Family Time," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected in our mobile app (built with Expo for Android and iOS).
1. Information We Collect
Family Time is local first. Most information stays on your device. Some optional features send limited data to our service providers when you choose to use them.
Personal information
- Information you enter in the app (for example your display name)
- Email address if you contact support, or if you sign in for optional cloud features
Relationship information (on your device)
- Contact names, relationships, phone numbers, birthdays
- Notes, memories, and reminder preferences
- Optional photos you attach
Device information
- Contacts you select when you choose to import
- Notification permission status
- Data needed to schedule reminders on your device
2. What leaves your device (optional)
Core reminders work without an account. A little leaves the device so Family Time can run, and more leaves only when you use an optional feature:
- Present Plus Backup & Restore. If you sign in and back up, we store your saved people and reminder settings with our cloud provider (Supabase) so you can restore on another device. Entitlement status for Present Plus is checked through the app stores via RevenueCat.
- Present Circle invites. When you create or share a Circle invite, a small invite record may be stored so others can look up the invite code. That record can include the invite code, Circle name, host display name, and whether Plus is included for members. Joining creates membership on the joiner’s device. Family Time does not yet provide full live sync of Circle members, hellos, or presence across devices.
- Purchases. Subscription purchases for Present Plus are processed by Google Play or the App Store and verified through RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- Support. If you email us, we receive whatever you include in the message.
- Install id. Family Time may send a one-time anonymous install id and the first name you enter at setup so we can keep the service running and recognize people in support. Contact names, phones, photos, and hello notes stay on your device.
3. Relationship data
Family Time stores information about people who matter to you, for example family members, friends, and others you choose to add.
- You decide what to store about other people
- You should only store information you have a legitimate reason to keep
- Relationship data powers your personal reminders, not marketing to those people
- Other people listed in the app are not Family Time users unless they install the app themselves
4. Contacts permission
If you allow contact access, Family Time may access your device contacts to help you select people to add. Import is initiated by you.
Family Time does not upload your entire contact list without your action, sell contact information, or share contacts with advertisers.
5. How we use information
- Create and show reminders on your device
- Display relationship information you saved
- Provide notifications you enable
- Provide optional Backup & Restore and Circle invite lookup when you use those features
- Provide Present Plus and (when available) Present Circle features you choose
6. Data storage
By default, your Family Time data is stored locally on your device.
Optional cloud features use secure third party infrastructure (currently Supabase for auth, backups, and invite registry; RevenueCat and the app stores for subscriptions). We take reasonable measures to protect information but cannot guarantee absolute security. Device backups may include app data depending on your settings.
7. Sharing of information
Family Time does not sell your personal information.
We may share information only when necessary to comply with law, provide requested services (for example app store billing and purchase verification), operate optional cloud features you turn on, or protect rights and safety.
8. Children's privacy
Family Time is not designed for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, delete, or learn about your data. You can remove people from your list and leave Circles in the app, and uninstall to clear local data. For optional cloud backups or account data, email support or follow our data deletion instructions.
10. Data deletion
See Request data deletion for full steps.
- Local data: Uninstall the app, or remove people / leave Circles in the app. Sign out in Settings if you use an account.
- Cloud / account data: Email support.familytime@gmail.com with subject “Data deletion request” from your account email (include your Play or sign in email).
If you never signed in and only used the app locally, uninstalling removes your Family Time data from that device.
11. Security
We use reasonable security practices for a local first app with optional cloud features, but no digital product can guarantee complete security.
12. Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
